About The Rented Nest

Around one in five households in England rent privately. Most home inspiration online is written for people who own their walls, and much of what turns up on Pinterest links to shops, sizes and plugs that don't work in the UK.

The Rented Nest is the opposite: ideas for small, rented UK homes that you can undo when you move out, and products you can actually buy here.

How we choose what to feature

• Renter-safe first. We favour things that need no drilling, or that can be removed without marking walls. Where something carries a risk – adhesive strips lifting paint, say – we tell you.
• Available in the UK. We only recommend products sold by UK retailers.
• Honest descriptions. We describe products from their listings and specifications. We don't claim to have tested something unless we have.
